Weekend Ramblings 3/8/14

This week Rocksteady announced Batman: Arkham Knight. 5x the size of Arkham City and you drive the Batmobile. That trailer look amazing, really got the inner nerd in me excited. Batman is my favorite comic character and I have loved all the games. Was also excited to see it was for PS4, XB1 and PC only. I think this is the first big multi-platform game not showing up on the 360 or PS3. Bet there will be a ton of people upgrade this fall!

I finished Shenmue over the weekend and have started my live stream playthrough of Shenmue 2 on the Dreamcast. I really forgot how great the first one is. It is going on 14 years old but it was still very enjoyable and I recommend anyone who has a Dreamcast and hasn't played it to give it a run through. If you don't have a Dreamcast, what the heck is wrong with you. Go buy one and buy Shenmue......and Powerstone and live a little.

I really need to finish Thief. It doesn't seem like it is going to be a long game. I get the feeling they really want you to play through the levels again to beat your time and play a different style but I probably won't be doing that. My backlog is backed up enough as it is and if you want me to play through a game again it better be good.....real, real good.

Jack Tretton steps down as Playstation CEO, 19 years working at SCEA he has been with the company since the playstations birth.  Really an end of an era.

Amy Hennig, for those that don't know she was creative director/writer on the Uncharted trilogy and was writing and lead development on Uncharted for the PS4, seems to have been pushed out or fired from Naughty Dog. This worries me for the Uncharted series. Whenever the person who was in charge of a trilogy of games like her leaves like this it is never a good thing. I could be wrong but look at what happened with Infinity Ward and COD....

Looks like my game this summer will be Watch Dogs, May 27th is a great time to release the game. Really no game to compete with unless you count Madden at the end of August. With no new NCAA Football this July my summer gaming was looking empty.
