Jsaux Steam Deck Back Plate and Other Accessories Review

Jsaux has one of the top suppliers of Steam Deck accessories. They seem to be ahead of the pack when it comes to release new high quality accessories for the Steam Deck. They were nice enough to send some of their new products over for me to check out. Here is my thoughts on what they sent.

Transparent Back Plate

Everyone loves to change the color of their handheld consoles. Jsaux has just released a transparent black back plate that is more than meets the eye. What makes this plate unique is that it has a metal plate on the back that is over the CPU and GPU of the Deck. This plate does make the deck run cooler by 5-7 degrees but be warned, the metal does get very hot. It won’t burn your finger but it will get hot enough to be uncomfortable to place your finger on. I have been playing Hogwarts Legacy on the Deck and have noticed the temp run color than others who do not have the back plate. The kit also includes three different back buttons, original, low and high as well as replacements screws so if you happen to lose any during disassembly. There were two issues I ran into with my unit. When tightening the screws the right side screws have to be left a little loose because when tightened down they causes the back buttons to be depressed. It’s not like the back is loose but the screws are not fully tight. The other issue I have is where the back plate meets the front near the trigger buttons; those ends are sharp. These are two small issues that you may not encounter. I still highly recommend picking one up. If you want different colors they do have more colors available for preorder here.

7 in 1 Docking Station

This dock is an upgraded dock from Jsaux first release. This one has three USA-A 3.2 ports, gigabit ethernet port, HDMI port and a display port. The dock will do 4k60/1080p120. It has a USB-C port for 100w charging as well. You can run the HDMI and Display port at the same time so you can run dual monitors. What I love about this dock is there is enough usb ports and enough power so I can connect a external usb hard drive to either move files or play games off of it. I can’t recommend this dock enough for $60.

3 in 1 Charger Dock

This little device comes in handy for those who travel and want to take a docking station with them but want it compact. This dock is a 45w charger that has a HDMI and a USB 2.0 port built in. It is a nice little device that I travel with all the time. You can even plug in a USB thumb drive to move files back and forth. It is 2.0, so speeds are not fast. I would love to see an upgraded version with USB 3.0 port. However, if you travel, this one is a must buy.

180 Degree USB Adapters

OK, I’m going to be honest. I didn’t think I needed these. I was happy to see the charger for the Deck on the top rather than the bottom like the Switch. But, after using these, I love them for two reasons. I use the USB-C version for charging. It’s good to have the cable running down the back of the Deck rather than out of the top. I use the USB-A to plug a high speed USB flash Drive into the Deck for game storage. Like the cable, it runs along the back out of sight and doesn’t get in the way of your hands while playing games. These will fit on the Deck even if you have a Jsaux case on the unit. These are a must buy.

A big thanks to Jsaux for sending these items out for review. I’m impressed at the high quality and affordability of all of these products. You will find links to all these products in the review. Be sure to follow us for more product reviews as they become available!
