Miyoo Mini Plus Retro Handheld Review
The Miyoo Mini Plus Retro Handheld is Mechdiy best selling retro gaming handle held. Is it worth the hype? Mechdiy has sent one over for John to check. Click to read his review.
The Miyoo Mini Plus is Mechdiy hottest selling model at the time of this writing. With four different colors available, this device on the surface looks like most retro gaming handhelds. Dpad, ABXY buttons, start and select on the front. The back has four trigger buttons. It features a 3.5in IPS Display that is 640x480. The screen is very bright, and the colors look fantastic. Here are more specifications for those interested:
Size: 78.5mm x 108mm x 22mm
Operating system:
Linux(Stock OS);
Onion OS (Upgraded to Onion V4.3.1-1, The latest version)
CPU: Cortex-A7, 1.2GHz .RAM: 128 MB DDR3
Screen: 3.5 inch, 640 x 480 IPS Screen
Support: Wi-Fi Battle
Memory Expansion: Support to expand up to 128GB.
Battery: Built-in 3000mAh Li Battery
Battery Life: 4-5h
Charging: USB Type
Out of the box the unit is ready to play games from about 48 different consoles, from Amiga to the WonderSwan. Just pop a micro SD card in the SD slot with your games on it and you are good to go. Every game I tried worked perfectly. Even PS1 games, but be advised there is no analog stick on this device so if it doesn’t have Dpad support, it may not work well. I found older arcade and 8/16bit games most enjoyable to play. Using Onion OS and Retroarch compatibility isn’t going to be an issue. The system has a A7 processor which is more than powerful enough to run every game smoothly. The OS is highly customizable as well if you want to make it more your own. Apps are preinstalled like a video player, PDF reader and Moonlight that allows you to stream games from your PC. I did not try these features because with a 3.5in screen some things will not be as enjoyable. The system also has Wifi built in for multiplayer games if you and your friend both have a system and there is even save states at the touch of a button to help with those harder games.
Overall, at $65 for the base unit it is a fantastic machine. It’s easy to use, plug and play. For $100 I recommend the unit with a 128gb SD card. That way you are set to go right out of the box with no setup. What is nice about this unit is there are lots of accessories like grips, charging docks and more that will make your gaming experience better. My only problem with the system is that it is very small. If you have larger hands, it may get uncomfortable with some games, especially those that use the back triggers. Overall though, I can’t recommend this system enough if you are looking for a small, travel friendly retro gaming console that is easy to get up and running and isn’t too expensive.
Follow this link to get yours here and thanks to Mechdiy for sending this unit over for review

Dueling Guard Gauntlet TCG Bag and EV 2.5 Elite Series Box Review
Dueling Guard is a newer company on the trading card game accessories scene. They say they offer premium quality products but they do come at a premium price. Are they really worth the asking price? Lets check out John’s review!
In February my wife bought me the Dueling Guard Gauntlet TCG Bag with Sabre Mat Sling for my birthday. I had been interested in a compact bag that I could carry all my necessary items to weekly league. I had been looking at these bags, but thought they were too expensive. Since it was my birthday, my wife wanted to buy me something I would use, so she picked this up. I’m so glad she did!! Even though the price of this bag is on the high side it is totally worth it, because of its quality and durability.
The set retails for $129 but you can catch it on sale for $100. While this may seem like a high cost, the quality of the bag is impeccable. It really is compact but spacious with compartments for cards, (both sleeved and un-sleeved), dice and tokens. There are small pockets for things like Apple Air tags to keep track of where your bag is; soft inside cushioning with really nice stitching that give it a premium feel. The outside is a tuff covering that holds up well against bumps and scuffs. You can buy just the bag without the mat sling, but it feels almost essential as it clips to the bottom of the bag and doesn’t have to be removed to take your mat out. The bag is an over the shoulder bag but pairing it with the mat sling you can make it a “backpack” if you want. Overall, it’s a fantastic bag that even when full, is light and easy to carry to weekly leagues or big tournaments.
Another product Dueling Guard has that pairs perfectly with the Gauntlet is the EV 2.5 Elite Series deck box. The bag was made for this box, which fits perfectly in the bag whether it is the standard or XL size. The box itself is made of vegan leather and has a removeable flip cover held on with magnets. There are two full removable deck holders and a dice box that is all held together with, you guessed it, magnets. The inside is lined with microfiber suede that will keep everything scratch free and feels super premium. The standard size holds 160 total cards sleeved. If you double sleeve you will get 120 to 130 cards in the box. For the extra $10 you might spring for the XL that holds 240 sleeved cards. Overall, this is the nicest deck box I have ever seen. After five months of use, both the deck box and the bag still look brand new.
You are probably reading this and saying John the full bag setup and deck box is almost $300. Yes I am, and it will be the best $300 you can spend as a TCG player who travels to league or tournaments. You most likely play with expensive cardboard, why not protect it. It’s also a conversation starter. so much so my local store has started carrying Dueling Guard products in store because so many people saw my deck box and wanted one too. I can’t give these products any higher recommendation.

The Ink Table Podcast Episode 5: "A Whirlpool of News"
In this "emergency" episode, Preston and Dylan discuss the latest news from Lorcana, including the reveal of Archazia's Island products and DUAL INK CARDS coming in the next set. Who is Archazia? What lore do we have behind this creature and island? How will they prepare us to defeat Jafar? All these questions are explored. Also discussed in this episode are the changes to organized play with the announcement of Ravensburger Play Hub, which will incentivize weekly organized play. Set Championship prizing is changing with only ONE playmat available for the winner, top 8 receiving enchanted promo cards, and 40 standard non-foil promo cards to those who preregister. Lastly, Lorcana 9th set has been revealed, "Fabled", which has a lot of mysteries.

The Ink Table Podcast Episode 4: "Ahoy, Ye Salty Dogs"
In this episode, Dylan and Preston discuss how Lorcana Gateway has ZERO locations, while also encouraging seasoned players listening to the show to help out those new League players that might be showing up for the very first time. Could we see a digital Lorcana client? Preston and Dylan discuss the job listing by Ravensburger for an Executive Producer for what hints to be a digital Lorcana game. Discussions around the North America Championship takes place, along with some friendly advice shared to those who might be attending their first store set championship over the next few weekends. Some merchandising updates, Disney trivia, and lastly, our main topic being final predictions around Archazia's Island. Could we see multi-color ink in Lorcana? What critters could we see in the set? Nothing has been revealed yet, but the Ink Table crew lock in their final predictions.

A lot of folks have got into Lorcana since the holidays and are probably mustering up the confidence to go to sets. Good on them! Here’s some “vibe” things to potentially except, all stores are different.
Folks are there to win. There’s exclusive prizing for the top 8. Except near meta, or completely flawless decks. Anything off meta is probably very strong, these players know their decks.
You will likely see people you have never seen before if you go to the same store during league. That’s okay.
Most importantly, win or lose, have fun, and know that your confidence to even participate in an event is admirable.
