Did the release of Titanfall overshadow other games?
Titanfall seems to be to the game everyone is playing. But did its release overshadow other great March games? So far in the month of March gamers have seen the release of Southpark: The Stick of Truth and Dark Souls II. inFAMOUS: Second Son is coming out in the next week will it slip under everyone’s radar and be overshadowed by Titanfall as well?
I don’t think Titanfall overshadowed Stick of Truth and Dark Souls II. Both games have sold out at a lot of retailers and the reviewers have great things to say about both games. For those gamers that have last gen systems Stick of Truth and Dark Souls II have a lot of appeal. There are a lof of gamers who still have a PS3 and/or a 360 and could use more games to play. Titanfall is geared toward a smaller audience of PC and Xbox One gamers who enjoy fast paced multiplayer gamers. Stick of Truth and Dark Souls II focus on a single player experience and are considered RPGs although they are both different regarding the later.
Fans of South Park or those looking for a different western based RPG will probably pick up Stick of Truth. Gamers looking for a challenging RPG that ramps up the difficulty may be drawn to Dark Souls II. There is plenty of room in March for games of all genres. Neither of the games were overshadowed by Titanfall. I think if one of these games was another fps it might have been consumed by Titanfall as a there are plenty of gamers who would have choose one or the other. What about when inFAMOUS: Second Son is released later this month, will it go unnoticed? I am sure it will sell decently. It may not move PS4s like Titanfall moved Xbox Ones but for many PS4 gamers this may be a must buy.
I still wonder why more companies don’t release games in January or mid summer. Most of the time in those months the new releases are few. Take advantage of this publishers and make some money.
