Why its a great time to buy a PS3
The PS4 may be out but the PS3 is still a great buy. The price of the console is still dropping and the great games are still coming out. If gamers haven't picked up one yet The Gamer’s Lounge has a few reasons why this is the time to buy a PS3.
The biggest reason behind picking up a PS3 now is what the system has to offer. The PS3 game library is full of great games. Here is a partial list covering every genre, the Uncharted series, Last of Us, inFAMOUS Series, Metal Gear Solid 4, LittleBigPlanet 1 and 2, Sly Collection, Killzone series, any of the games in Ratchet and Clank, Heavy Rain, 3D Dot Heroes, The ICO and Shadow of the Colossus Collection, Resistance series, Gran Turismo 5, Demon's Souls, Ni No Kuni, and Journey. There are so many more I could list and the best part is most of these games can be found for under $30 new. There are so many unique and interesting games for the PS3. There is something there for every sort of gamer.
There is a lot of great free content with PS+ which comes out to a little over $4 a month. PS+ includes some great deals on DLC and stand alone games as well as free good AAA games every month. Some of the better games have been Metro Last Light, Borderlands 2, X-Com, Sleeping Dogs, Tomb Raider, Bioshock Infinite, DMC, and the list goes on and on. There is also a great selection of PSN games for free as well.
The cost of the console is another great incentive for those who have been holding out. The PS3 console can be found for around $250 new right now. For around $200 or less gamers can get a slightly used console. Why wait? This is a great system that has a lot to offer.
The game library is great and the price is affordable what else does the console offer? The PS3 serves as a great media player. It can stream from your PC, play blu-rays, stream off a hard drive or flash drive, plays Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, as well as media from several other streaming services. It is easy to upgrade the hard drive. Here is a pro tip save a few $$ and buy the 120GB or 250GB model and throw a 2.5 inch 1TB laptop drive in there. The PS3 will format it right away and now gamers have more space to store their games. There are several cross buy and cross play options with the PS Vita which is another attractive feature of the PS3.
The PS3 will has a lot of life left in the system and I foresee Sony supporting the system for several more years. This could be the system with another 10 year life span.
