Dueling Guard Gauntlet TCG Bag and EV 2.5 Elite Series Box Review
In February my wife bought me the Dueling Guard Gauntlet TCG Bag with Sabre Mat Sling for my birthday. I had been interested in a compact bag that I could carry all my necessary items to weekly league. I had been looking at these bags, but thought they were too expensive. Since it was my birthday, my wife wanted to buy me something I would use, so she picked this up. I’m so glad she did!! Even though the price of this bag is on the high side it is totally worth it, because of its quality and durability.
The set retails for $129 but you can catch it on sale for $100. While this may seem like a high cost, the quality of the bag is impeccable. It really is compact but spacious with compartments for cards, (both sleeved and un-sleeved), dice and tokens. There are small pockets for things like Apple Air tags to keep track of where your bag is; soft inside cushioning with really nice stitching that give it a premium feel. The outside is a tuff covering that holds up well against bumps and scuffs. You can buy just the bag without the mat sling, but it feels almost essential as it clips to the bottom of the bag and doesn’t have to be removed to take your mat out. The bag is an over the shoulder bag but pairing it with the mat sling you can make it a “backpack” if you want. Overall, it’s a fantastic bag that even when full, is light and easy to carry to weekly leagues or big tournaments.
Another product Dueling Guard has that pairs perfectly with the Gauntlet is the EV 2.5 Elite Series deck box. The bag was made for this box, which fits perfectly in the bag whether it is the standard or XL size. The box itself is made of vegan leather and has a removeable flip cover held on with magnets. There are two full removable deck holders and a dice box that is all held together with, you guessed it, magnets. The inside is lined with microfiber suede that will keep everything scratch free and feels super premium. The standard size holds 160 total cards sleeved. If you double sleeve you will get 120 to 130 cards in the box. For the extra $10 you might spring for the XL that holds 240 sleeved cards. Overall, this is the nicest deck box I have ever seen. After five months of use, both the deck box and the bag still look brand new.
You are probably reading this and saying John the full bag setup and deck box is almost $300. Yes I am, and it will be the best $300 you can spend as a TCG player who travels to league or tournaments. You most likely play with expensive cardboard, why not protect it. It’s also a conversation starter. so much so my local store has started carrying Dueling Guard products in store because so many people saw my deck box and wanted one too. I can’t give these products any higher recommendation.
