RYAN JOHNSON
Deep Sky Derelicts: Definitive Edition Review (PS4)
Deep Sky Derelictts: Definitive Edition accumulates all the currently available DLC and releases them on the home consoles. A unique mix of turn-based RPG and card game with a roguelike twist, this futuristic comic-book styled game is a neat strategic title with a dash of randomization to keep it interesting.
God Wars: The Complete Legend Review
God Wars is an amazing tactical RPG that came out last year on PS4 and Vita. On September 5th it releases on Switch, with an additional $20 DLC baked in. Gamers who purchased the original on Sony systems may upgrade via DLC, but the Switch offers newcomers the chance to get it all in one affordable package that may be worth the double dip for major fans of the genre.
Layers of Fear (Possibly) Finds Closure in Inheritance DLC
"Do I have to go in there?" As probably the most un-horror fan on The Gamer's Lounge team, Ryan gave the original Layers of Fear his coveted NOPE award, meaning he couldn't handle the scares and horrors inherent in it. However, when distilled down to it's core elements, Layers of Fear was a horror-walking simulator, with nothing much to do short of going through the motions. Here in the Inheritance DLC, the developers have produced that same icky feeling, with a resounding NOPE coming out of Ryan's brain. For true fans of the genre, though, they couldn't ask for anything more.
