RYAN JOHNSON
Ys IX: Monstrum Nox (PlayStation 5) Review
Ys IX: Monsltrum Nox gets a native PS5 release, with updated graphics and a full DLC baked in. It’s a great option for fans of the series, but if you’ve already played the PS4 version it may not be worth your time unless you really want to delve through the same story again.
Aggelos (Switch) Review
Aggelos is a love letter to classic RPG and action games, feeling like a mishmash of Zelda II, Metroid, CastleVania, and Mega Man. Some of it’s classic skin makes one see how far we’ve come, as it hearkens back to exactly how it used to be. However, Aggelos’ tight gameplay makes for a fun and easily affordable experience.
JackQuest: The Tale of the Sword (Switch) Review
JackQuest: The Tale of The Sword is a fun little indie game with a few flaws. It can be brutally hard to overcome the initial leveling system, and the story is barebones simiplistic, but it can be a fun and challenging time ideal for someone in the speedrunning community.
Fallen Legion: Rise to Glory Review
Fallen Legion: Rise to Glory combines two simultaneous releases from Sony platforms last year, telling two sides of the same battle: a princess attempting to return her kingdom to splendor and the rebel who opposes her. These two titles get more added to them on the Switch, creating the definitive edition of both games.
The Witch and the Hundred Knight 2 Review
The Witch and the Hundred Knight 2 continues in the theme of the first, an attempted marriage between strategy and action RPG. At times, this works, but a lot of the game turns into micromanagement that doesn't feel like it's going anywhere important. Good for fans of the first, but newcomers should be aware of a few nuances prior to purchase.
