Who ya gonna call? Ghostbusters Remastered was a great game on PS3/360, Wii and PS2. The Gamers Lounge jumps headfirst into this port to see if its as good as the last iteration.
A remaster should mean better graphics, new content and upgraded controls, Ghostbusters has a little of this. Gamers will see a bump in textures but the multiplayer modes have been removed. But all the original cast are present minus Rick Moranis and Sigourney Weaver.
This feels like it could be a rough sequel to the franchise as Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis have taken the time to really make sure this game shines. Does it feel like its designed to appeal to the fans sure? I’ll take all the campiness of the franchise and enjoy it.
The game is a lot of fun going after ghosts and the tight controls make it easy to play. The great voice acting make this game an easy bite of fun. It's easy to scan the environment for info on the ghosts while the proton pack keeps track of the important stats. Controls are tight and the game is easy to play. Nothing like firing up the steam and tearing the walls down in order to catch a ghost.
Egon, Winston, Ray and Peter are all there to assist you. If they end up taking too much damage it’s in players’ best interest to revive them so they can do the same for you. Overall the game is very appealing to fans of the series. If gamers have played the PS3/360 version there isn't much here that’s remastered and worth another play through. But for gamers who had to settle for the Wii or PS2 versions I highly recommend getting this version of the game.
Final verdict this is a fun game for fans and newcomers to the series alike. I highly recommend it. Thanks to the publisher for a review code.
