August and September Garage Sale Finds
The last few months have been pretty slow for garage sales. I think the season may be coming to a close. The finds have become very few, but I did find a few things in the last weeks.
I went out a few times in August and found nothing. Everything was either overpriced or there was nothing I wanted. I did find a few things in September, and one of these was off Craigslist.
I picked up two Wii systems off Craigslist over Labor Day weekend for $30. The systems are dirty and have not been tested. They came with 3 wiimotes with motion plus attachments. Came will all the hookups except one of the sensor bars which I will have to buy. There was also a copy of Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, a rockband mic, a balance board, and a white Xbox 360 wireless adapter. I am planning to clean them up and give one to my nieces.
Last weekend, September 9th I went to a few sales that advertised games. Most of them had nothing. I did go to one sale that had ps2 games they were all a $1. I snagged Tony Hawk 4 for $1. Keeping this in mind I am pretty sure the season is done. I was busy in August and Sept and missed a few weekend. There might be a few more sales in early Oct and I'll try to go out and see if there is anything.
If this is going to be my last installment of the series for the year I want to mention my greatest finds. The PSP with games for $20 and the 250gb 360 with Kinect for $60 that I found back in June may be the best find all summer. Finding Tomba for PS1 for free during that month was also great. Picking up Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle Earth II for PC for a $1 in May was another great find. Getting two Wiis in mid March for $50 with games was another fantastic find as well. Although I had a few good finds this year I feel as I had a lot better luck last year and I went to a lot less sales.
