Garage Sale Finds The Weeks of 8/17 and 9/12
August has come and gone. Fall is right around the corner and for most people garage sale season is coming to close. I have a found a few things over the last weeks and I suspect the season is winding down. Here are the finds from the weekend of August 17th and September 12th.
It’s not that I didn't find anything those last few weekends in August; I was too busy to go out and hunt. But the weekend of August 17th took me to a large community yard sale at a small convention center. They have it once every few months in the summer and spring. I try to go to this every year and this was the first time this season I was able to go.
On the way there I stopped at a house that had sold me a SNES earlier this spring. Guy had a few games listed and he used to work with me. He did have a new ASUS DVD burner and for $10 I was happy. He also had Burnout Takedown for PS2 for $5 which I happily scooped up.
At the convention center I saw lots of overpriced games. Most people wanted market price. One booth had an odd assortment of N64 and newer games. He wanted market value but the consoles were reasonable. I passed. I did stop at a booth for a guy I see every year. He had Pokemon Red listed for $25 and I still needed that game. He offered it to me for $20 and mentioned I could test it if I wanted. On my way out I stopped by another booth and a lady was selling dvds. In the pile I found Let’s Ride for PC for $0.50. It was sealed and I have no idea what I will do with it
September 12th is another story. I wasn’t planning on going to any yard sales but there was one on Facebook. Guy had a ton of PS1 games, a PS2, SNES stuff, and a SNES/NES FC Twin. I stopped by and got Crash Bandicoot 1 and 2 for $6. I was interested in the FC Twin but I already have a Retron 5. I think he wanted $50 for the system. There were a handful of PS2 and Xbox games but nothing notable.
As fall starts to pick up my schedule is going to get very busy. This may be one of the last garage sale posts you read. If it is, I wish you the best of luck in the spring and on your hunts.
