Garage Sale Finds the week of 5/23 and 5/30
The hunt continues as the Garage Sale season heats up. The last few weeks have been slow but I did pick up a few things. The weekend of May 23rd was pretty busy and I had limited time. I went to one sale the guy had listed games and action figures. I was late getting up and getting to the sale. I showed up only to see another person I had run into at a few sales carrying a large box of games out. The sale had been picked clean and I was not happy. I did go out on Memorial Day and picked up Twilight Princess for the Wii for $5. Not a bad deal.
The weekend of May 30th was a little more interesting. I went to one sale that had video games. Lots of disc only Wii/360 games in generic cases. They were $1 each. I couldn’t resist going through the 15 games. I pulled out New Super Mario Bros, Wii Sports, Crash Mind Over Mutant, and COD MW Reflex. All of them for $4, and that is a great deal.
Most of the games I got the last few weekends will go to trade fodder. This weekend I am going to one of the largest Garage Sales in the state. Two years ago I scored 10-15 DS games for $.50 apiece and a nice SP for $5. Three years ago I found a copy of Resident Evil 3 for PS1 sealed, and it cost $2. Although last year was a semi-bust, I am excited to see what I can find this year.
My tip for this week is make sure you get up early. Don’t be like me and oversleep and miss the chance to score some great items. It also might be worth it to take a business card with you to leave at sites in case they cannot find their games when you show up.
