The Ink Table Podcast Episode 24: “Things are Getting Wild”

Into the Jungle

You awake at the arrival of a new day, still remembering the strange dreams that just occurred. Everything seems normal, as you continue your usual routine. You pour yourself a cup of coffee and get dressed for the day. Then you head for a morning jog.
But as you throw open the door, you are met with scorching rays, as if beaming through a magnifying glass. Astonishment and fear sink in at the sight before you. The world has become a verdant forest of overgrown foliage and vines. The treetop canopy seems hundreds of feet above you. Did you shrink? Could it be that you are still dreaming? One thing is for sure…Things Are Getting Wild.

Welcome to The Ink Table, where we are discussing the latest information on Disney Lorcana’s newest set, Wilds Unknown, and even some beyond!

Wilds Unknown

Wilds Unknown, the 12th set of Disney Lorcana will release at local game stores on May 8th,2026 before releasing at major retailers one week later on May 15th. This set sees the continuation of the story arch covering a vine that has absorbed magical mixed ink and is now rapidly taking over the realm of Lorcana.

This set notably also sees the introduction of Pixar characters and franchises making their first appearance in the game. Illumineers can look forward to seeing some of their favorite Toy Story pals such as Buzz Lightyear and Woody, princess Merida and her mischievous brothers from Brave, and the entire family of supers from The Incredibles.

Pre-Release

Something new and exciting will take place during the May 8th pre-release. Ravensburger is borrowing from the playbook of other TCGs and will be using designated kits for their pre-release events. These kits will consist of a cardboard deck box, 4 Lorcana themed dice, 6 packs of Wilds Unknown, 1 of 3 random postcards, and 1 of 6 random promo cards (replacing the previous pre-release participation promo), and a start-up rulebook explaining how to play both Pack Rush and the sealed formats.

The 6 possible promos you can find.

The 3 postcards. Each represent 2 ink colors, defined by the corresponding Illumineer on each.

Iconics

Ravensburger seems to be leaning heavy into the new Pixar franchises in this set, as the coveted Iconic cards will be Pixar characters. Since their introduction in Fabled, Iconics have remained the highest rarity you can pull. These valuable cards are highly sought after by collectors. investors, and Disney fans alike.
The Iconic Mickey Mouse - Brave Little Prince is currently the most valuable card in the game and continues to set records with its sold prices. We have a sneaky suspicion that Buzz Lightyear - Jungle Ranger will meet or even surpass those prices.

Set Championships

Although Woody missed out on the Iconic treatment, the cowboy was far from forgotten. By competing in a Set Championship at your local game store you can receive an alternate art participation promo of Woody - Jungle Guide. Those who make Top 8 in these events, will receive a version with the enchanted foiling. And the overall winner will receive and extraordinary playmat showcasing the art.

More Promos

We also got our first look at many of the other promos that you can earn during Wilds Unknown.

  • Dash Parr - Lava Runner (Buy-a-Box Promo)

  • Violet Parr - Learning New Powers (Seasonal Promo)

  • Lenny - Toy Binoculars (Organized Play)

  • Will O’ Wisp - Forest Spirit (Organized Play)

  • Zipper - Tiny Helper (Organized Play)

Attack of the Vine!

We now know that the 13th set of Disney Lorcana, Attack of the Vine!, will see its pre-release on July 17th. This set will be the ultimate culmination of the current story arch as we finally take on the pesky vine. Ravensburger will also continue their push of introducing Pixar franchises as we will see glimmers from Monsters Inc., Turning Red, and Up.

We have even received our first look at some of the cards from the Monsters Inc. franchise that will be in the set, along with some of its products.

Below you can get a peak at the Attack of the Vine! Booster Box, Trove, Pre-Release kit, and some playmats that will release with it.

Hyperia City

In Q4 2026 we will receive Hyperia City. Not much is known about this set other than the fact that it will introduce Coco to Lorcana.

Q1 2027

In even more vague news, we got a glimpse of an unnamed Q1 2027 set that will introduce the pandemic era Onward.

New Illumineer

Since The First Chapter of Disney Lorcana, a special narrative has been unfolding from set to set. During which, we have followed the path of three special Illumineers: Shanzay, Martin, and Venturo.

But recently the Disney Lorcana Narrative Team has been introducing other Illumineers to the fold. First was the mention of someone named Hana back in Whispers in the Well, who we have yet to see. And now they have shown us a Ruby/Amethyst Illumineer named Amazu.

You can check out the embedded short where we shed further light onto this new Illumineer and share everything we know about him so far.
